DECK project: the final conference will be held during the Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships
The final conference of the DECK project (Developing Environmental and Circular Knowledge) will be held on Thursday, August 21 at 10:00 AM at the Idroscalo in Milan. The project focuses on environmental sustainability and the circular economy in the context of sporting events. The event will be hosted during the 2025 ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Championships, an ideal occasion to present some of the operational tools developed over the 30-month duration of the project, which will be applied during the world-class event at the Lombardy venue.
The conference will highlight the results and legacy of the DECK project, launched in 2023 and co-funded by the European Commission through the Erasmus+ Sport program. The initiative, led by the Italian Canoe Kayak Federation and supported by an international network including the Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies in Pisa, the School of Sport of Sport e Salute SpA, the National Sports Federations of Greece, Croatia, Slovenia and the International Canoe Federation, will showcase the achievements to date and outline future perspectives for the entire project.
The event will also examine the impact of the DECK project on partner organizations and its implications for long-term sustainability. It will serve as an opportunity to analyze how the project has influenced its partners and what it means for the future of sustainable sports event management.
